BIRTHPLACE
Chicomóztoc
It means "Seven caves" and is the place of origin of eight Chichimeca tribes, among them are the ancestors of the rulers of Cholula and Cuauhtinchan, who during the 11th century migrated to the Central Highlands of Mexico.
In alliance with the Toltecs they participated in a Holy War against Cholula, founded manors and established new dynasties in areas that today comprise the states of Puebla, Oaxaca, Tlaxcala and Veracruz.
To legitimize access to the land, the New Hispanic peoples created documents in which they narrate their origin, migration, and possession of a territory, in some cases their ancestors and proctor gods emerge from one of the Chicomóztoc caves.
